Having trouble staying positive?

During this season of unrest, confusion and uncertainty it can be easier to focus on the negative. Negativity however, does not make us feel better. In fact, it adds another layer; causing us now to feel even more sad, down and frustrated. If you are having some difficulty staying positive try a very simple exercise. Write down five things that you are grateful for. I promise you it will take your mind off of the negative things. I can almost guarantee that you will have more than five things. Each day, start out with another thing to add to the list. There are so many things in life that we take for granted; never stopping to realize that they are blessings. I'll start by giving you an example of what I'm grateful for.

  1. SEE

  2. TASTE

  3. SMELL

  4. HEAR

  5. TOUCH

I lost my sense of smell some years back and I didn't have it for over a year. The sense of smell is the strongest sense. It alerts you and can even bring you back in time. Ever get a quick whiff of something and it reminds of something or someone from years ago? I am so grateful to have that back. But, I would not have appreciated it so much had I not lost it. It's one of those things that you go through life with, just expecting it to be.

Be grateful and think on the good things.
