FAITH

"Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see." (Hebrews 11:1 NIV)

Faith is one of the most amazing things. It can keep us hopeful. It can help to get us through tough times. It helps us to believe that things will change or that things will get better. Though it is one of the most amazing things; it can be one of the toughest things in challenging times.

When challenges come, our faith is tested. When challenges come, fear and worry are at their best. When challenges come we are often faced with the option to keep hoping or to quit. Right now, I challenge you to keep the faith. I challenge you, not to give up. I challenge you to exercise your faith over that fear that is looming. I challenge you to start praying and stop worrying.

God knows how little our faith can be. He gave us this word, "...Because you have so little faith. Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move form here to there,' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you." That's INCREDIBLE! God knows us so well, that we were told by Jesus to have faith the size of a mustard seed. Do you know how small that is? A mustard seed is 1 to 2 millimeters in diameter; that's 0.039-0.079 in inches. It is the smallest of seeds. Your faith need only be that size to move a big 'ole mountain. Guess what, when the mustard seed grows, it is the largest in the garden.

Whether you have lost faith due to the pandemic or you are going through another challenge that has rocked you to your core and has crushed your hope, get an image of a mustard seed in your mind and your spirit. Picture that seed growing larger than any other. Your faith may be shaken right now but that tiny mustard seed will grow larger and so will your faith.

Faith gives us grounding. It gives us peace. It gives us a fighting spirit. Faith is a tool to cope. It's a tool to forge through. It's a tool that keeps us optimistic in pessimistic times.

...feel like your mental health is being challenged? Do you feel like you've given it your all and you are worn out? Try to tell that mountain to move. If it doesn't, tell it again. Keep telling it to move and believe that it will.

In these trying times, we need something to hold on to. Faith is free and it's yours for the taking. Start with one simple prayer and then, keep praying.

Don't give up, in or quit. I read somewhere that it's always too soon to quit. That breakthrough may be right there. So, hold on. Lean in. Renew your faith. Take a mustard seed and remind yourself that, that is all the faith that you need.

Trust me, I am a witness to lost hope and loss of faith in some areas. But, I am also a witness to how faith can keep you in times of trouble.

"And we know that all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose." (Romans 8:28 NIV)
