Love is the Epitome of Wellness
It's February, the month of love. It's the month of Healthy Heart Awareness and the month of Valentine's Day. While Valentine's day isn't a religious or federal holiday, isn't it great to celebrate love? Can you imagine what the world would be like without any love at all? We all experience love on different levels; some more than others. However, I'd like to believe that we all have experienced love in some way or another. The motherless and fatherless, the abandoned, the homeless and the lonely...I would like to believe that all have experienced love at some point in their lives.
Stand still; pause for just a moment and be mindful of what love feels like. Stand in it, feel it, inhale it. Doesn't it feel good? Imagine what it would be like not to have it. I'd imagine the world would be a much more awful place than what we may tend to think it is or can be at times.
Valentine's day is a great opportunity to capture the love and remind us that we thrive and survive off of it. It reminds us to spread and share love to everyone. It puts people in a mood of compassion, smiles and giving.
The Bible speaks about love throughout. God is love, Jesus loves us, love one another, the greatest of these is love, love your neighbor as yourself, love is patient, love is kind, let all that you do be done in love... We simply can't survive without it.
Love is the epitome of wellness. It nourishes our mind, which delivers to our heart, which delivers to our body, which delivers to our spirit. Love engulfs every part of us. True love can heal. Ever here of someone being nurtured back to health? Love passes through the nurturing.
Love can stretch across miles through telephone, text messages, emails and social media and it is the universal language. It crosses all cultures. It is our common bond.
I believe love to be the most powerful force. God is love and love is our ultimate health remedy.
Valentine's day may be over but love is ever present. Love yourself and love others. Share it everyday, person to person, through the airwaves and the internet. It is our greatest connection.
I love you!
