To worry or not to worry...

Does worrying help anything? It helps absolutely nothing at all. On the contrary, it can cause negative outcomes; particularly to your health. Worrying can lead to early signs of aging, immense amounts of stress and illness. We already know from hearing and reading that stress is the number one killer. Worrying heightens your stress level; leaving the mind, body and spirit vulnerable to sickness and disease. So, knowing this why do we worry? That's not an easy question to answer is it? If you sit and think about it, you may not come up with an answer at all. I think it's because we think it's easier than to focus on the positive. Focusing on the positive takes practice and work but the benefits are far much greater than worrying. My father use to say to me, "Why worry when you can pray?" If you try it you'll realize that it is not possible to consciously do the two at the same time. So, when worry starts to enter my space, I remember what my father says and I begin to pray.

Worrying is totally unhealthy. Breathe in peace and release the worry. Find your practice to diminish the worry. See worrying as your enemy not your friend.

Take a deep breath, relax your shoulders, thank God for the daily blessings and stop worrying.

The alternative to worrying is a stress free way of living. Try to enjoy your life without worrying. Take the steps to relieve yourself of things that you cannot control. You'll be all the better for it.
